I found a four leaf clover yesterday. I always get excited when I do that. There was a time that I would spend a lot of time looking for them and more often as not never find one. As I grew older and found I had less time to waste on such an endeavor, I quit looking. Sometimes, as with yesterday, one will just appear at my feet, when I least expect it. I guess that might be why I get excited, considering all the time I looked for one and now they are just right there.

While the scriptures tell us to "seek and you shall find", isn't it nice to know that even if we get wrapped up in the details and worries of life and are not looking for Him, he will be "right there"? And He always is and always will be.

Laborers Wanted

Jesus himself said; "The harvest is truly great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." Luke 10:2, NKJV.

This verse came to mind today after receiving a visit from a political campaign worker. This fellow was not at all eloquent yet he conveyed his message well and I sensed that he believed in the candidates he was "stumping" for.

That set me to thinking. If the politicians can get organized and send out workers to get their message out, why then has it become so difficult for Christians to do the same and spread the Good News? It seems that every other organization including "religious" ones have their workers out in force just as soon as the weather gets pretty. It seems that Christ's Church is sorely lacking in that aspect.

The saving knowledge of Jesus Christ is much to important to keep to ourselves. It would be great if every church in the US would send out workers, but many do not.  The time is getting short and the harvest will not keep. If nothing else we all need to proclaim the Good News, even if it is as individuals. Sometimes that is the only way to reach people, by engaging them one on one; at work, the grocery, day care or wherever. I suppose you do not have to be a part of a gang of evangelists accosting the neighborhoods, but I do believe the churches in America need to emphasize evangelism. Christ sent them out "two by two" (Luke 10:1) and I am sure He would not mind if we did it "one by one." Besides, do we not believe in Whom we are working for? Let Him lead and He will put us where He needs us, right place, right time, every time. Just remember he wants to use all of us.
Just something to think about, myself included.

Welcome!

I bought a truck the other day for my business. It is not new and I bought it from an individual.
The man handed me the title and said " I left the date and the purchase price open."
Great I thought. But was it? With these sections empty I could insert any day and any price I wanted in the spaces, and avoid paying taxes and possible late fees. A small business has to be careful with every dollar. But there is something beyond this world that is worth much more than the couple of hundred bucks I could save here. I inserted the correct amount and date onto the title and away I went to the BMV. Ouch! That hurt!
The point is, Christ does live beyond Sunday, and I am so thankful He does. I have enough trouble falling into sin without walking into it intentionally and enough to explain at the Judgement Seat without adding to it! By remembering He lives every day helps me in all areas of life, large and small.
That is the purpose of this blog. You will find I am not perfect, and if I do it right you will find He is! It might show others that they are not alone in facing challenges, we all have them, but sometimes it helps to see another common person struggleing along in their walk with Christ.
